The new type of public transport tickets
Calypso® is an open, secure standard for ticketing always with a focus on flexible and long-term deployable products. It is used in more than 25 countries and over 170 cities worldwide and was created by the transport community for the transport community to ensure long-term usability and sustainability.
nagels ia a member of the Calypso Network Association (CNA) and benefits from ongoing support from the association. We are one of more than 50 manufacturers who support innovation and create products which are assessible and usable by all.
At nagels we offer two types of Calypso® tickets – Calypso® Light and Basic. Both tickets comply with all international standards, are independently certified and designed to use the same data model while occupying a small volume of data in the terminal software for managing ticket transactions.
Calypso® Light
Calypso® Light is designed for ticketing in mass transit but can also be used for other applications such as access systems or events. It meets the requirements of occasional users and account-based ticketing and contains a circuit with its own operating system inside.

High security and fast contactless The Light ticket from nagels benefits from Calypso’s high security and performance, thanks to full compliance with standards. Calypso® Light can complete your existing range of tickets, from annual and monthly passes to tickets for occasional users with just a minor change to your device software.
Calypso Light

Calypso® Basic
To offer the transport community a cost-effective alternative to the Calypso® Prime and Calypso® Light, the Calypso® Basic Ticket is now available from nagels. A highly secure, contactless and very cost-effective ticket that avoids magnetic stripes, barcodes / QR codes and proprietary contactless tickets.

Basic is the perfect low-cost paper product to complement Calypso® cards for passengers who use public transport only occasionally. With Basic, you benefit from a low-cost – but highly secure contactless ticket that offers an efficient solution for single trips. Tickets are created with the same data model as in Calypso® Prime and Calypso® Light and managed in the terminals with the same software.
Calypso® Basic can also be used in many areas other than transportation wherever secure, efficient and cost-effective ticketing is required.
